This is a strategic, client-facing opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a background supporting the energy sector. The successful individual will play a key role in driving growth across utility, power generation and energy infrastructure clients, working alongside senior technical and business leaders to win and expand strategic accounts.

The Opportunity

As Senior Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales and capture strategies across a diverse portfolio of energy clients, including regulated electric and gas utilities, independent power producers, electric cooperatives and oil & gas organisations.

Working closely with market leadership, technical specialists and client account teams, you'll lead pursuits from qualification through proposal submission, ensuring a structured and strategic approach to business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify market trends, client challenges and competitive intelligence to position winning solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with key client stakeholders and internal account teams.
  • Lead go/no-go decisions and support pursuit planning, pricing strategy and commercial risk evaluation.
  • Coordinate proposal development, pursuit budgets and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with technical experts and business development teams to maximise cross-selling opportunities.
  • Track pipeline activity, forecast opportunities and maintain CRM data.
  • Continuously improve pursuit strategy by incorporating lessons learned from previous wins and losses.
  • Represent the business professionally within the Energy market and support long-term client engagement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Approximately 12+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a direct sales, capture or business development role supporting the Energy sector.
  • Demonstrated success winning consulting or technical services work with utility, power generation or energy infrastructure clients.
  • Strong understanding of capture management, proposal development, pricing, commercial risk and client engagement.
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Deltek or similar.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience supporting regulated utilities, independent power producers or oil & gas clients.
  • Active involvement within industry organisations or professional associations focused on energy or infrastructure.
