Job Description

DS2 is seeking an experienced full-time Unity 3D Developer with 3 to 5 years' experience to support upcoming requirements within our Government Services Business Unit. The Unity 3D Developer will be part of the Scrum team for the design and development of innovative PC-based simulator trainers for the U.S. Air Force. Successful candidates will bring proven Unity 3D development skills, innovative design ideas, and concepts to develop engaging Live, Virtual, and Constructive Trainers for our military. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and complete a U.S. government background investigation. Must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities - What You'll Do: 

  • Full Software Lifecycle application development – designing, developing, debugging, & documenting applications.
  • Work in a focused, dynamic, fast-paced team environment with accountable deadlines.
  • Write and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code.
  • Ensure the best performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications and games.
  • Actively participate in concept development & client meetings. 
  • Collaborate with product owners, programmers, managers and other stakeholders to ensure goals are met.
  • Ensure the quality of the design & development through all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate design and concept intent to product owner and software engineers.

Qualifications - We Need Someone Who: 

  • Has a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Game Design and Development, Game Programming or a similar technical field.
  • Has a deep knowledge of Unity UI and API's.
  • Has experience with Unity ECS.
  • Has 3+ years of experience as a gaming/simulator developer with Unity 3D.
  • Has 3+ years of experience developing well-engineered software in C++/C#.
  • Is a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
  • Has experience with game physics and memory optimization.
  • Has a passion for constantly learning and staying in touch with evolving gaming standards.
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational, project and time management skills.
  • Has a great attitude with an emphasis on excellence.
  • Has the ability to work effectively and successfully in a collaborative team-oriented work environment. 

Preferred - It's Even Better if You: 

  • Have knowledge of geospatial concepts and locations aware services.
  • Have experience developing with AR/VR/XR technologies. 
  • Have specialized skills in lighting, animation, and modeling.
  • Have military training simulator development experience.
  • Have experience with game physics, navigation, and terrain models.
  • Have certifications such as (Scrum.org) PSD I, (Scrum.org) PSM I, Unity Certified Associate, Unity Certified Programmer, Unity Gameplay Programmer.
