Salary: $123,000 - 163,000 per year Requirements:

• We require 5+ years of experience investigating healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse.
• We value prior investigation experience across pharmacy, durable medical equipment, mental health or behavioral health, hospice, home health, and dental settings.
• We need experience conducting investigations and fact-finding interviews.
• We expect strong capability in analyzing claims data and identifying abnormal billing trends.
• We require advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, complex formulas and calculations, and large dataset comparison.
• We look for experience preparing investigative reports and clearly documenting findings.
• We prefer knowledge of Medicare and/or Medi-Cal fraud investigations.
• We need the ability to support conclusions with well-documented evidence.

• We perform detailed reviews of potential fraud and abuse cases.
• We develop complex investigations involving high-dollar matters, sensitive issues, or cases that meet fraud, waste, and abuse criteria.
• We build the investigative strategy for each case.
• We provide leadership to investigators through mentoring, on-site audit guidance, and hands-on training in investigative methods.

We are seeking a Special Investigation Unit Investigator III for a remote contract-to-hire opportunity in Los Angeles, California, with the requirement to live within driving distance of the office and to work onsite once a month after conversion to full-time employment. This role is part of a team focused on identifying and addressing fraud, waste, and abuse, and it includes the opportunity to guide and develop other investigators.
