Job Title: Safety Manager - Commercial Construction

Company Overview:
Our client is a highly respected commercial construction general contractor serving the San Francisco Bay Area. Our focus is on delivering high-quality projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism. As our project portfolio grows, we are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and reinforce our jobsite safety programs.

Position Summary:
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs across multiple job sites. This role ensures all operations comply with applicable safety regulations, with a focus on Cal/OSHA standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial construction and a proactive approach to risk mitigation and team engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Implement and manage safety policies for commercial construction job sites
* Conduct routine safety audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance
* Facilitate safety training programs, orientations, and toolbox talks
* Investigate incidents and near misses; generate reports and corrective action plans
* Maintain accurate safety documentation and records
* Partner with superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors to uphold safety culture
* Monitor changes in safety regulations and recommend adjustments to policy and procedures accordingly

Required Qualifications:

* Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction safety management
* OSHA 500 OR OSHA 510/5109 with STSC (Safety Trained Supervisor Construction) certification
* Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA standards
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple active job sites

Preferred Qualifications:

* CHST, CSP, or other advanced safety certifications
* Experience with large-scale commercial projects
