- We require a bachelors degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a masters degree with 10+ years of experience; comparable education, training, and experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
- We need substantial experience leading or supervising technical teams of network engineers, administrators, analysts, or implementation staff in complex enterprise environments.
- We require hands-on experience guiding network engineering initiatives from planning through deployment, including requirements analysis, dependency management, risk mitigation, contingency planning, execution oversight, validation, and operational transition.
- We need experience assessing enterprise network architectures and building improvement plans across LAN, WAN, WLAN, routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, proxies, security stacks, software-defined networking, and cloud-connected environments.
- We require experience with Network Segmentation, Comply-to-Connect, or similar secure connectivity efforts, including data-flow analysis, firewall and ACL review, routing adjustments, security-zone design, stakeholder coordination, and implementation planning.
- We need strong organizational ability to manage details, balance competing priorities, meet aggressive schedules, and deliver complex technical work with a high level of accountability.
- We require experience documenting logical and physical network designs, implementation plans, risks, dependencies, decision points, and technical recommendations using tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, Cameo, or similar applications.
- We need experience working with two or more of the following technologies: Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Dell, Infoblox, and Brocade.
- We require excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present architecture recommendations, implementation plans, risks, dependencies, and status updates to technical leaders, stakeholders, and approval boards.
- We require a current IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+ or CISSP.
- We require an active DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities: - We will rely on this person to plan, design, and implement enterprise network segmentation and Comply-to-Connect initiatives, including data-flow mapping, firewall rule and ACL review, routing and security policy coordination, cutover sequencing, validation, and stakeholder sign-off.
- We expect them to lead strategic engineering efforts from concept through implementation, including architecture review, requirements analysis, dependency identification, design coordination, planning, execution, validation, and transition to operations.
- We will have them develop and maintain implementation plans, schedules, cutover approaches, contingency plans, rollback procedures, validation steps, stakeholder communications, and change documentation for mission-critical network changes.
- We expect them to provide technical leadership, mentoring, and daily direction to network engineers, administrators, and analysts while organizing priorities, maintaining accountability, and driving delivery against aggressive timelines.
- We will have them provide clear technical updates and recommendations to government stakeholders.
- We expect them to evaluate current network architecture, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, estimate effort, assess implementation risk, and create practical engineering plans to enhance enterprise capabilities.
- We will have them collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, operations, project management, and technical subject matter experts to remove blockers, manage dependencies, reduce delivery risk, and execute network projects end to end.
- We expect them to continuously improve engineering processes, documentation standards, implementation playbooks, and delivery models to speed up execution, reduce rework, strengthen operational handoff, and lower sustainment effort.
