Job Description

Unió Digital is a Tucson, Arizona-based full-service information technology, cloud services provider, and structured cabling company offering comprehensive managed IT services, hosted email/voice/security solutions, and low-voltage cabling services. We are looking for a low-voltage technician to join the team. In this role, you would be part of a team responsible for pulling and routing low-voltage cabling, terminating cable, installing support structures, and troubleshooting connections on projects. Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of industry experience and excellent organizational and communication skills. In some cases, you will be the on-site point of contact for smaller jobs.

Duties

  • Installing and servicing low voltage cabling (Data/Voice/Coax/Audio/Visual/Fiber)
  • Install cable support systems (j-hooks or ladder rack)
  • Terminating Cat6/Cat6A network jacks
  • Perform copper cable testing
  • Installation and termination of cameras, card readers, motions, exit devices, and other security/access control equipment
  • Must be able to install, test, and troubleshoot basic network issues
  • Reads and interprets all floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets
  • Use of hand and power tools in both new construction and finished residential and commercial environments
  • Must be willing to travel locally (own car) and within the state (transportation provided)
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning

Qualification

  • At least 3 years of experience working with new commercial construction low-voltage projects
  • Ability to travel in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado.
  • Ability to understand and effectively explain every aspect of the structured cabling system, including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross- and inter-connections, and testing. This includes understanding applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices and the ability to differentiate between them and make recommendations.
  • Read, write, and understand English
  • Able to distinguish color codes
  • Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and kneel without assistance.
  • BICSI Installer/ Technician Certification a plus
  • Familiarity with ANSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards a plus
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certificate a plus
