Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift (Mechanical Focus)

Manufacturing Facility | Mitchell, SD

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–4:30 PM

Overtime: Occasional Saturdays as needed

Pay: $25–$30/hour (depending on experience)

You’ll be the go‑to person keeping production and packaging equipment running safely and efficiently—without rotating shifts or constant on‑call work.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems on production and packaging equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, belts, chains, and related systems
• Diagnose breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime and keep production moving
• Assist with equipment installs, upgrades, and improvements
• Work closely with production teams to address equipment issues
• Document maintenance work and follow all safety procedures
• Support occasional weekend maintenance when needed

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• (hands‑on mechanical experience or strong personal/mechanical considered)
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems (bearings, sprockets, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.)
• Ability to read equipment manuals and mechanical drawings
• Basic electrical troubleshooting is a plus, not a requirement
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Mitchell, SD.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
